A hilltop residence in Cape Town

With its chandeliers and slate-tiled floors, the place feels rather like a cathedral. The monumental Simon’s Town residence is the home of Bartél van Vuuren and his family. The vaulted bare-brick inner sanctum is filled with vintage furniture and collectables including Bartél’s antique weaponry displayed in a cabinet on the old Cuban dresser.
