Historic home in Great Karoo, South Africa

The title deeds show these buildings date back to 1858. By the time Kurt Steiner and Duke Kaufman first set eyes on this unique trio of buildings in 2009, the ceilings were sagging and walls made of unbaked bricks and mud plaster were in danger of crumbling. All three structures were in drastic need of rescue. Kurt and Dukeimmediately felt drawn to the place and started making plans to rescue and renovate it.
