Tom and Sally took a leap of faith in taking on a beautiful, if beleaguered, house on the edge of a water meadow, whose garden was prone to flooding.  But it proved to be a risk worth taking. On the edge of the water meadow, the house gazes out over a wide brook, which winds its sometimes leisurely, sometimes frantic way through its garden, until disappearing under an ancient stone bridge at the garden’s edge.
