Living on the water in Amsterdam

It wasn't easy turning this ship with the motor still in it into a comfortable home. Above the waterline, the ship was stripped to its bare timber. Built in 1908, it had more than a century of grubby coating. After installing a new steering box came a steel roof. Everything had to be renewed from the waterline up but the work paid off and the boat is now a family home.
